With the recent conclusion of Communicasia2008 in Singapore, Mr. Edwin Allan Mogul, Astra Philippines Inc.'s Managing Director indicated Astra's software and research development initiatives related to Social Networking. Speaking about Astra's networking solution for music enthusiasts, Mr. Mogul says that "Users will be able to share and create music while corporate partners could then promote and sell their music-related products and hold promotional events."
Social networking solutions and Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) were identified as new niche areas that Philippine ICT companies can explore in the international market, reported the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
This year, the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) and the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) also joined the Philippine contingent to Communicasia2008. Business matching activities were also scheduled with companies from Australia, United Kingdom, and Israel.
